By accessing or using Ætt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") with Merki AS. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

Ætt is a psychometric social platform that provides personality assessments, personal development tools, and social features for comparing results with friends. The Service is developed and operated by Merki AS at aett.app.

The Service offers self-report instruments grounded in established psychological theory. They measure how you describe yourself; formal validation studies have not yet been completed. Treat your results as a starting point for reflection, not a final verdict.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

You are responsible for safeguarding the password used to access the Service and for any activities under your account.

You agree to respond honestly to assessment questions. Providing intentionally inaccurate responses undermines the validity of your results.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Share your assessment results in ways that could harm or mislead others
• Misrepresent yourself or your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Merki AS and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Assessment items and scoring algorithms are based on peer-reviewed psychological research and are protected intellectual property.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

Psychological assessment data is classified as special category data under GDPR and is subject to additional protections.

You may share insights, goals, and messages with friends through the Service. You retain ownership of content you create.

By sharing content, you grant Merki AS a limited license to display that content to your intended recipients within the Service.

You are responsible for content you share. Do not share content that is harmful, misleading, or violates others' rights.

You may terminate your account at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Account deletion follows our data retention policy described in the Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MERKI AS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
